Pressing Toward Fall

A hint of Fall chill can be felt in the air and the leaves of the cottonwoods are beginning to show hints of gold, which foreshadow the wonderful fall display to come.

The historic east side neighborhood in Kalispell becomes a truly special place when fall hits and turns the tree lined streets into golden tunnels.

Sunflower Arrangement, Oil on Canvas   10"x8"
These eyecatching sunflowers were on display at Flowers by Hansen in downtown Kalispell.  I painted them on site during their second taste and see event.  The lovely yellow orange pops of color were contrasted by the red candle and strongly evoked a feeling of fall.

Fall on the Middle Fork, Oil on Canvas   4"x6"
The fall color provided wonderful color pops along the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.

Lit Up Above, Oil on Canvas   6"x4"
The last light of the day hit the hills above the Middle Fork of the Flathead River and illuminated the beautiful gold fall color.

The Light on Oberlin, Oil on Canvas   8"x8"
Mount Oberlin, one of the distinct peaks in Glacier park, picked up the afternoon light on this glorious late summer day.

A Hint of Fall, Oil on Canvas   8"x10"
Heaven's Peak is one of the star attractions along the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park.  Its unique spiral shape make it distinct, beautiful, and a must see.

Kila Cloud Study 1, Oil on Canvas   4"x6"
Beautiful cloud formations gently drifted across the Montana sky during this picture perfect late summer day.

Kila Cloud Study 2, Oil on Canvas   4"x6"
These dramatic clouds were a joy to capture as they allowed some light through and partially cast some of the distant mountains into shadow..

On a Country Road, Acrylic on Canvas   8"x10"
This '55 Studebaker was completed as a gift and depicted tearing down a country dirt road.
