The Days Became Longer

The winter days are becoming noticeably longer and we are being teased with hints of spring.  There is more opportunity to paint outdoors and capture Montana in all its winter glory.

The snow melt has created some muddy roads in the area.  The tires tracks created a beautiful pattern that reflected the pastels of the sky.

Just across the street from the Conrad mansion is this charming classic yellow home.  The patches of snow that have remained on the lawn created a nice pattern.

This studio piece is a revisitation of my earlier work entitled 'The Ice Palace".  More light has found its way into the scene and the image is asymmetrical unlike its predecessor.  The snow covered limbs and filtered light continued to intrigue me and I wanted to explore their effects further.
